CVG Airport- Flying into Cincinatti?

Published on September 03, 2009 14:50

CVG is an international airport that services the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. The airports code, abbreviated CVG, comes from the nearest city at the time of opening in 1947, Covington, Kentucky. Neil Armstrong who served on CVG’s board of directors in the 1970’s, jokingly referred to its airport code as "Cincinnati Very Good".

What makes this airport unlike any other airport is its horse trails and attention to art. Located in every terminal are twenty by twenty mosaics. In total, there are fourteen of them. CVG also boasts an equestrian program. By simply filling out a form, individuals are allowed to ride their horses on CVG’s trails. The trails are located around the airport and offer several miles worth of fields and wooded areas to ride on. The trails provide spectacular views just outside the airport fenceline. If you are stopping by CVG airport, don’t forget your love for nature and art!
